Fenlake Meadows, across the river from Priory Country Park, is a large area of riverside grassland and floodplain grazing marsh. Owned and managed by Bedford Borough Council, Fenlake Meadows is an important site for local wildlife, having been declared a Local Nature Reserve in 1992.
It will continue to be managed for nature conservation and for quiet enjoyment, and opportunities explored to increase its value for locally and nationally important wildlife.
